This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia.
• Take ownership of long-term target architectures, interfaces, trust boundaries, and patterns across space, ground, and user segments.
• Integrate security considerations from the outset throughout a multi-year roadmap.
• Act as the senior technical authority for release-readiness gates, engineering standards, and architectural trade-offs.
• Lead technical integration efforts among cyber, software, hardware, AI, and systems teams.
• Transform solutions into productized formats for consistent deployment across client satellites and constellation profiles.
• Direct the system-level test strategy and execution for integration, security validation, mission-readiness, and operational acceptance.
• Assist in failure analysis and the resolution of root causes.
• Convert NIST, CMMC, ATO/STIGs, and space threat models into actionable delivery controls and compliance-ready designs.
• Facilitate technical-vision discussions with clients and executive stakeholders.
• Provide guidance to workstream leads regarding complex technical trade-offs and assist in developing architects and engineers.
• A Bachelor's degree is mandatory.
• Candidates must be U.S. Citizens.
• Over 10 years of experience in roles such as product engineer, solution architect, systems architect, technical product leader, or similar positions.
• Proven experience in delivering complex cyber, aerospace, space, embedded, or mission-critical systems to production and operations.
• Demonstrated leadership in delivering multidisciplinary cyber and/or space systems.
• Experience in designing secure architectures in cloud, on-premises, hybrid, and space/embedded environments.
• Background in systems thinking and integration.
• Experience authoring reference architectures, patterns, or platforms utilized by multiple teams.
• Cross-domain expertise in embedded/space, AI/ML, ground segment, cloud, and DevOps.
• Strong knowledge of identity management, key management, secure boot and update procedures, segmentation, data protection, logging and telemetry, and supply chain security.
• Familiarity with NIST, ATOs, STIGs, and CMMC compliance requirements.
• Ability to influence others without having direct authority.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills suited for both technical and executive audiences.
• Willingness and capability to travel 20 to 60 percent of the time.
• Candidates with prior consulting or contracting experience are preferred.
• Preferred experience includes commercial product or platform launches, satellite mission operations, aerospace delivery, embedded and real-time systems, AI/ML deployment pipelines, space threat research, and holding an active Secret-or-higher security clearance.
• Proficient in C, POSIX, real-time operating systems, Python, PyTorch, Docker, Grafana, MQTT, Node.js, GitHub Actions, automated security scanning, and containerized deployments.
