This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and implement the quality strategy for our clinical platform.
• Define the concept of quality at Heartbeat, establish metrics for measurement, and identify improvement methods across partner-specific configurations, clinical decision support, workflow orchestration, and integration points. You will be responsible for quality outcomes rather than solely focusing on test artifacts.
• Create a validation architecture.
• Design systems that enhance the speed, reliability, and ease of validation, including test data strategies, environment management, automation frameworks, and CI/CD integration. Enable engineers to reclaim time by making quality infrastructure a force multiplier instead of a burden.
• Boost release confidence.
• Enhance the predictability of releases by systematizing validation earlier in the development lifecycle. The team should have concrete evidence that the product functions correctly upon release.
• Foster embedded cross-functional partnerships.
• This is not a handoff position. You will be integrated into the development process—engaging in refinement, influencing the scoping of work and acceptance criteria, and defining what constitutes "done." You’ll be a vital member of a small, high-impact team with direct access to product, engineering, and clinical leadership.
• Conduct exploratory testing where it is most impactful.
• Execute targeted exploratory testing in high-risk areas, including new features, edge cases, partner-specific configuration behaviors, and clinical workflow paths. You understand when to employ automation and when human judgment is essential.
• You have established or significantly transformed a QA function—not just performed tasks within one. You’ve defined the guiding principles, selected the tools, and shifted the team’s perspective on quality.
• You collaborate as an equal with engineers and product teams, rather than working downstream from them. You influence development practices, not merely validate outputs.
• You possess strong technical fluency in test automation, CI/CD, and testing infrastructure. You can build frameworks rather than just utilize existing ones.
• You think in systems: understanding risk models, failure modes, configuration matrices, and integration boundaries—not just focusing on test cases and coverage percentages.
• You balance automation with exploratory testing, demonstrating sound judgment about when to use each approach.
• You are comfortable navigating ambiguity. This role has defined objectives but lacks a predefined playbook, requiring you to establish structure.
• We are mission-driven: we're revolutionizing the way cardiovascular care is delivered.
• We are fast-paced & agile: we move quickly, iterate often, and value experimentation.
• We are remote-first: flexibility, autonomy, and trust are central to our operations.
• We value diversity: diversity enables us to create an exceptional patient experience.
• We are an equal opportunity employer: we do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
