Principal Product Manager – Mobile

Posted Jun 20

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Define and continually refine a multi-year vision and strategy for the mobile application that aligns with company objectives and meets customer needs.

• Establish clear, outcome-driven objectives (OKRs) and ensure that priorities reflect the highest value for both customers and the business.

• Convert strategy into a targeted portfolio of initiatives that balance growth opportunities and the stability, reliability, and technical debt of the product.

• Lead a motivated product squad, particularly collaborating with engineering and design, to identify opportunities, explore solutions, and achieve measurable outcomes beyond just features.

• Develop robust product principles and decision-making frameworks to enable teams to operate swiftly with clarity and integrity.

• Propel digital innovation through the adoption of emerging technologies while continuously assessing and influencing KFC's position to provide unique customer experiences.

• Foster an environment where teams proactively address risks (value/usability/feasibility/viability) through discovery, prototyping, and experimentation.

• Promote ongoing discovery and delivery by utilizing customer research, analytics, and experiments to validate concepts before scaling solutions.

• Acquire a deep understanding of customers and operators by leveraging qualitative and quantitative insights to identify unmet needs and friction points.

• Advocate for field immersion by collaborating with market and operations leaders to validate solutions in real restaurant settings, ensuring they can scale under operational complexities and peak-demand conditions.

• Drive decision-making based on data by establishing success metrics, evaluating product performance, and guiding rapid iterations to achieve measurable business and guest outcomes.

• Anticipate the potential benefits of initiatives using benchmarks and previous learnings; create measurement plans upfront so key metrics are prioritized as P0 requirements (with instrumentation considered from the start).

• Strive for simplicity: consistently capture ~80% of the value with ~20% of the effort, encouraging teams to pursue the most straightforward solution that achieves the desired outcome without compromising quality or integrity.

• Organize tasks to maximize compounding impact, balancing quick wins against platform investments to ensure the roadmap remains focused on outcomes.

• Work diligently to ensure successful delivery: eliminate obstacles, align stakeholders, and drive end-to-end execution from launch to adoption and iteration.

• Collaborate with Marketing, Operations, Technology, Finance, Legal, and Support to integrate product plans and provide a seamless end-to-end guest experience.

• Cultivate credibility and trust across a matrixed organization; establish the authority to make decisions by being well-prepared, data-informed, and relentlessly focused on business outcomes.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8–12+ years of progressive experience in product management, with a proven track record of overseeing complex, customer-facing digital products.

• Demonstrated success in leading empowered, cross-functional product teams (including product, design, engineering, and data) to achieve measurable business and customer outcomes, rather than merely focusing on feature output.

• Extensive experience in managing a high-scale consumer product (preferably mobile), showcasing strong product judgment throughout the discovery, delivery, and go-to-market processes.

• Proven ability to define and implement product vision, strategy, and roadmaps, translating ambiguous problem spaces into focused, outcome-oriented plans.

• Strong prioritization skills, with a consistent history of sequencing work to balance growth initiatives, platform investments, and operational reliability.

• Demonstrated proficiency in data-driven decision-making, including forecasting impacts, defining success metrics upfront, instrumenting products for measurement, and learning from post-launch results.

• Ability to simplify complex issues and solutions, consistently delivering maximum value with minimal complexity.

• Proven execution capabilities, including end-to-end ownership of initiatives from concept through launch, adoption, and iteration.

• Adequate technical understanding to grasp engineering complexities and trade-offs, assess feasibility independently, and collaborate effectively with engineering leaders.

• Strong design sensibility, with the capacity to discern good from exceptional user experiences and elevate quality standards while respecting technical and operational constraints.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.

• Proven ability to build trust, constructively challenge assumptions, and influence decisions within a matrixed organization.

• Comfort in navigating environments characterized by ambiguity and change, adapting swiftly while maintaining team focus and productivity.

• Strong ownership mentality, motivated by impact and outcomes rather than visibility or title advancement.

• Competitive salary and performance-based incentives.

• Comprehensive health and wellness benefits.

• Opportunities for professional development and career advancement.
