This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +1 more state.
• Articulate the concept of the HTS API Marketplace, detailing how its capabilities are organized, packaged, and priced across a suite that includes HTS Connect, Search Polygons, Autocomplete, Ranking, Content & Property Mapping, Room Mapping, Deduplication/Auction, Pricing, Extranet, Taxes, and the Custom Deals Engine.
• Collaborate with capability Product Managers — who are responsible for the foundational technical systems — to gain insights into each capability's roadmap, limitations, and customization options, and convert this information into API products that are accessible to external users.
• Manage the commercial framework for the marketplace, including decisions on platform versus variable fee structures, take rate arrangements per capability, enterprise packaging, and the custom deals strategy for larger partners with distinct customer segments.
• Create the developer and partner experience from the ground up: this includes API specifications, partner onboarding processes, documentation standards, sandbox environments, and integration tools designed to reduce time-to-first-value.
• Leverage AI tools and quick prototyping to swiftly evaluate concepts — such as mock API responses, prototype partner portals, and simulated pricing and ranking setups — prior to allocating engineering resources.
• Define the go-to-market strategy for the marketplace: collaborate with the Commercial team to select appropriate partners for each capability, sequence product launches, and outline what constitutes a successful commercial rollout.
• Oversee the revenue P&L for the marketplace: model and monitor Gross Booking Value (GBV), take rate, and unit economics per capability in conjunction with the Finance team.
• Determine the sequencing and prioritization for all capabilities — from ongoing projects (HTS Connect, Taxes) to products in the scoping phase (Content & Property Mapping, Room Mapping, Deduplication/Auction, Pricing) and capabilities not yet initiated (Search Polygons, Autocomplete, Ranking, Extranet, Custom Deals Engine).
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in Product Management, having successfully taken at least one product from inception to commercial launch.
• Proven track record in developing developer-facing or B2B marketplace products, including responsibility for API product design, developer experience, and commercial packaging aimed at enterprise clients.
• An AI-native approach: you utilize large language models and rapid coding as primary tools for prototyping rather than as novelties. You have created functioning demos, mockups, or proofs-of-concept using AI before transitioning projects to engineering.
• In-depth knowledge of marketplace economics, including take rates, incentives for the supply side, demand-side optimization, and the formulation of platform versus variable commercial models.
• Ability to effectively coordinate among multiple product teams — synthesizing roadmaps, identifying dependencies, and fostering cross-team alignment without direct ownership of the engineering processes.
• Experience engaging with external enterprise partners: converting commercial requirements into product specifications and managing partner expectations through multi-phase implementations.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and familiarity with large-scale transactional or operational datasets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the capacity to produce clear API and product documentation.
• A well-funded and established startup with ambitious goals, offering a competitive salary and the advantages of pre-IPO equity packages.
• Unlimited Paid Time Off (PTO).
• Travel stipend in Carrot Cash.
• Access to co-working spaces on demand through FlexDesk, along with a Work-from-home stipend.
• Inquire about our exceptionally generous parental leave policy, which exceeds industry norms!
• An entrepreneurial culture where challenging boundaries and taking risks is part of daily operations.
• Open lines of communication with management and company leadership.
• Small, agile teams that create a significant impact.
• 100% employer-covered Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance for employees.
• Access to Disability and Life insurance.
• Health Reimbursement Account (HRA).
• Dependent Care Account (DCA)/Flexible Spending Account (FSA) along with access to a 401k plan.
