Principal, Product Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Develop and lead the multi-year product strategy and roadmap for Apache Flink, encompassing both cloud and on-premises products.

• Create structured processes to ensure alignment among product, engineering, go-to-market (GTM), and executive stakeholders.

• Discover high-impact, 0-to-1 product opportunities for Flink and related fields such as AI, data engineering, data warehousing, and event-driven applications.

• Determine how Confluent Flink offerings will integrate within the Confluent and IBM product ecosystems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to take ownership of and deliver product strategy for intricate cloud data products, catering to a diverse audience from data engineers to software developers.

• Extensive technical knowledge in distributed systems, data engineering, and cloud technology. Familiarity with streaming technologies like Kafka, Flink, or Spark is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Proven experience in leading product development through the entire lifecycle, successfully scaling businesses from initial product-market fit to significant revenue.

• Over 10 years of experience in product management for technical software or cloud service products.

• A hands-on engineering or technical background, with proficiency in systems design, API design, and various programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Scala, SQL, etc.).

• Experience with open-source software and formulating commercialization strategies while fostering community engagement.

• A strong track record in data infrastructure, analytics, AI/ML platforms, real-time systems, or streaming systems, particularly where the product addresses a wide range of technical expertise among customers.
