Principal Product Manager, AI Strategy – Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +8 more states.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the Chief AI Officer to convert enterprise AI priorities into a well-defined execution framework across products, platforms, and enabling functions.

• Monitor the AI initiative portfolio to ensure visibility into its status, dependencies, risks, investment requirements, and anticipated outcomes.

• Ensure alignment of the portfolio with business priorities, product strategy, and technical capabilities.

• Design and implement the operational cadence for the AI organization, encompassing planning cycles, reviews, decision forums, and executive updates.

• Facilitate effective follow-through on strategic initiatives by coordinating actions, assignments, milestones, and escalation pathways.

• Establish uniform mechanisms for tracking progress, identifying trade-offs, and enhancing decision-making processes.

• Assist in investment planning for AI initiatives by clarifying sequencing, expected impacts, resource trade-offs, and portfolio equilibrium.

• Partner with Finance, Product, and Engineering leaders to articulate initiative value, costs, and readiness for execution.

• Aid leaders in making informed prioritization decisions based on business impact and execution constraints.

• Coordinate with Product, Engineering, Security, Legal, Privacy, Compliance, and executive stakeholders to ensure major initiatives remain aligned and on track.

• Identify and resolve gaps in accountability, sequencing, or communication.

• Ensure that portfolio-level decisions are accurately reflected in roadmap planning and operational commitments.

• Define and uphold the fundamental reporting structure for AI strategy execution, encompassing initiative health, milestone progress, value realization, and operational risks.

• Create clear materials for executive stakeholders, board-level discussions, and cross-functional leadership reviews.

• Enhance the quality and consistency of portfolio reporting across AI-related workstreams.

• Support the Chief AI Officer on special projects, strategic analyses, operating model decisions, and cross-functional initiatives.

• Develop recommendations that align business objectives, product selections, technical realities, and execution risks.

• Act as a force multiplier for leadership by promoting clarity, structure, and action in complex problem areas.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Economics, or a related field is required.

• A Master’s degree, such as an MBA or a relevant graduate degree in a technical or business discipline, is preferred.

• Ongoing professional development in AI strategy, product operations, portfolio management, and executive communication is expected.

• Over 10 years of experience in product management, strategy, business operations, technical program leadership, or portfolio operations, including interactions with senior executives.

• Proven track record of translating strategy into execution across cross-functional organizations with diverse stakeholders and dependencies.

• Strong product and business judgment, with the capability to assess initiative value, readiness, and trade-offs.

• Demonstrated experience in developing operational cadences, portfolio management systems, executive reporting, and decision support processes.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create materials for executive audiences.

• Ability to function effectively in ambiguous environments and promote alignment across technical and non-technical teams.
