Principal Product Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Oversee design strategy across various business units, encompassing all facets of design expertise.

• Assist in establishing the vision for our comprehensive user experience.

• Supervise and mentor the work of fellow designers.

• Develop new products while also enhancing existing ones.

• Coordinate with executive stakeholders across engineering, product, marketing, and additional departments.

• Propel enhancements to the product development process in collaboration with cross-functional partners.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in Product Design.

• At least 2 years of experience at a venture-backed, private startup is required.

• A minimum of 2 years in a role where you influence the work of others, either through direct management or indirect leadership.

• Proven impact in elevating design practices and outcomes within organizations you have been part of.

• Most of your experience should be in-house, focusing on direct-to-consumer products.

• Experience in a fast-paced, ambiguous, experiment-driven environment—ideally within a Growth Product/Design context.

• Involvement in high-consideration consumer flows where storytelling and design craftsmanship significantly impact product performance.

• Ability to clearly articulate the rationale behind your design choices, showcasing intentionality and thorough thinking through your work.

• A robust portfolio illustrating your capability to deliver high-quality work, including interaction details, storytelling, visual refinement, and content design.

• Experience leading projects from inception to completion, which includes discovery, problem definition, ideation, validation, and engineering implementation through to measurement.

• Proficient in improving workflows and launching 0-1 products.

• Demonstrated ability to swiftly identify process and misalignment challenges and effectively address them.

• Must reside in the Eastern Time Zone.
