Principal Physical AI Distributed Systems Researcher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create innovative solutions that establish the groundwork for secure, adaptable, and high-performance distributed systems.

• Collaborate with the business development team to identify research areas of interest and formulate engaging research proposal topics.

• Draft research proposals and provide updates on progress to research sponsors.

• Lead and execute research contracts to advance our technology.

• Act as Principal Investigator and/or Staff Member on externally funded research contracts.

• Actively engage with research project sponsors, clients, research partners, and potential prospects.

• Cultivate expertise in emerging technologies and disseminate insights throughout RTI.

• Share technical innovations through publications and presentations.

• Facilitate the transition of promising technical advancements to product, including customer trials, coordinating with product management, and collaborating closely with the engineering team to design, develop, test, and support this transition.

⛳️ Requirements

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Relevant research expertise may include electromechanical systems, intelligent or autonomous systems, distributed systems, physical agentic AI, or computer networking.

• An experimental thesis or practical experience with physical applications or distributed systems research.

• Outstanding written communication skills and a track record of research publications. Experience in writing and securing proposals, as well as managing research projects.

• Strong programming skills and experience with AI-assisted software development.

• Ability to successfully collaborate with and engage a highly distributed team.
