This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Lead the establishment and implementation of KIOXIA’s standardization strategy across the Enterprise, Client, and Datacenter storage sectors.
• Act as a key technical contributor for KIOXIA in standards committees, working groups, and technical forums.
• Spearhead the development, submission, and progression of technical proposals within pertinent standards organizations.
• Facilitate internal technical alignment among Engineering, Marketing, and Product teams.
• Examine and assess external technical proposals while guiding internal position-setting and response strategies.
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers, ecosystem partners, and competitors to shape standards direction and foster consensus.
• Oversee standards documentation, proposal tracking, and internal knowledge dissemination.
• Enhance KIOXIA’s industry profile and technical leadership through active involvement in standards initiatives.
• Identify emerging standards bodies, technologies, and opportunities for KIOXIA to take on leadership roles.
• Organize and lead regular internal standards review meetings.
• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years of pertinent experience in storage, SSD, or related technologies.
• At least 5 years of direct involvement in industry standardization efforts.
• Proven leadership in crafting and presenting technical proposals within formal standards organizations.
• Established experience representing an organization at external technical or standards forums.
• Strong analytical skills to evaluate customer needs, competitive technologies, and internal engineering limitations.
• Capability to autonomously define priorities, create execution plans, and achieve results.
• Proficiency in coordinating cross-functional teams to address technical challenges.
• Robust project management abilities with the skill to independently prioritize, plan, execute, and complete multiple initiatives.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
• Preferred experience in actively participating in standards organizations such as PCI Express, SNIA, DMTF, and NVM Express.
• Preferred familiarity with antitrust and anticompetitive regulations regarding standardization activities.
• In-depth understanding of electrical, mechanical, and thermal requirements for advanced storage devices is preferred.
• Preferred knowledge of storage architectures across client, server, enterprise, and datacenter environments.
• Working knowledge of SSD architecture and system I/O stacks is preferred.
