This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the cross-platform reference architecture for the Modern Data Platform encompassing Databricks, Snowflake, and Fabric, adapting it as platforms and partnerships evolve.
• Act as the embedded tech lead for engagements, overseeing architecture, conducting design reviews, and actively participating in the most challenging build tasks.
• Drive technical discovery with potential health system partners, evaluating source environments (Epic Clarity/Caboodle, Cogito on Cloud, Bulk FHIR, flat-file SFTP) and designing a robust target state.
• Lead and mentor a team of Senior Data Engineers specializing in platforms and a Cloud/Platform Engineer; elevate the technical standards.
• Review and validate all engineering outputs, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC), ingestion patterns, data sharing topologies, and security measures.
• Collaborate with the Engagement Manager and Field Chief Data Officer to define Statements of Work (SOWs), ensure adherence to timelines, and identify technical risks before they impact scheduling.
• Manage technical transitions to the QH Platform team via Delta Sharing / Reader Account to enable AI workflows on the modernized infrastructure.
• Keep the technical engagement playbook and a repository of accelerators up-to-date, ensuring each new engagement benefits from prior learnings.
• Convey the technical narrative during pre-sales activities: present to CTOs, CDOs, and enterprise architects; transform technical credibility into confirmed projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
• Over 10 years of experience in data engineering, data platform architecture, or solutions architecture roles, showcasing technical leadership of multi-member teams.
• Practical experience in production across at least two of Databricks, Snowflake, and Microsoft Fabric.
• Successful delivery of three or more enterprise lakehouse/cloud data platform implementations within regulated industries.
• Strong proficiency in cloud technologies, particularly Azure, covering networking, identity, key management, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or Bicep), and observability.
• Experience in client-facing roles leading high-level technical discussions.
