Principal Faculty, PMHNP Certificate Program

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.

📋 Description

• Foster communication with administration, faculty, students, and community partners regarding university and program initiatives.

• Engage in the design, assessment, and evaluation of program curriculum and courses.

• Take part in student admission processes, progression monitoring, and advisement activities.

• Develop class materials utilizing best practices in graduate nursing education.

• Deliver direct instruction to students in various formats including online, on-site, and clinical environments.

• Initiate, adopt, assess, and promote the mission, goals, and outcomes of the program.

• Create opportunities for students and colleagues to assess teaching effectiveness.

• Evaluate and recommend faculty for promotion opportunities.

• Attend regularly scheduled department meetings and other university events.

• Participate in scholarly activities appropriate to appointment and rank.

• Maintain clinical practice aligned with licensure and suitable for appointment and rank.

• Serve on program, university, state, and national committees.

• Engage in professional and community initiatives that connect education, service, and research to enhance healthcare delivery.

• Accept elected or appointed positions on department and university standing or ad-hoc committees.

• Assist the Department Chair and Program Director in planning, coordinating, facilitating, administering, and overseeing program activities.


⛳️ Requirements

• Doctoral degree obtained.

• Unencumbered active APRN license required.

• Current PMHNP ANCC or AANPCB board certification necessary.

• Recent nursing teaching degree or certificate OR a minimum of 2 years of recent university-level teaching experience (preferred).

• Familiarity with legislative, regulatory, legal, and practice issues impacting modern graduate nursing education.

• Capability to work with students and faculty/staff with special needs as per the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

• Willingness to engage in peer review and shared governance processes.

• Must pass a criminal background check prior to employment commencement.

• Active involvement in professional nursing organizations at local, state, and/or national levels (preferred).

• Two or more years of recent APRN practice experience (preferred).

• Strong skills in leadership, communication, organization, interpersonal relations, and problem-solving (preferred).

• Administrative experience in academic governance and/or clinical practice (preferred).

• Proven ability to design and conduct independent and/or collaborative research (preferred).

• Ability to work autonomously and as part of an interdisciplinary team (preferred).

• Willingness to travel as required (preferred).
