Principal Experience User Researcher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Become a subject matter expert on customer experience and trends in developer workflows, aligning with emerging AI capabilities.

• Develop a research strategy that effectively balances the needs of the business and its customers.

• Monitor key areas of uncertainty and prioritize research efforts to reduce product development risks.

• Leverage customer insights to shape design and influence the product roadmap.

• Plan and implement a mixed-methods research program that supports AI-enhanced developer experiences.

• Analyze both quantitative and qualitative data, presenting study results promptly, in accordance with project milestones and business goals.

• Disseminate user research findings broadly to foster greater empathy for developers among User Experience, Product Management, Marketing, and Engineering teams.

• Promote the advancement of user research practices within Autodesk.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to influence user experience and business decisions through user research outcomes.

• Proven capability to deliver outstanding user research outputs, showcased in a comprehensive portfolio.

• In-depth expertise and innovation in user research methodologies, including the design and execution of usability studies, statistical analysis of survey data, heuristic evaluations, participatory design activities, and focus groups.

• Experience in contributing user research within an agile development setting.

• Skill in influencing stakeholders across various divisions, including senior directors and VPs, and the ability to present findings to the CTO.

• Fluency in English; exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.

• Strong visual and oral storytelling skills.

• MS/MFA or higher in Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Engineering, Psychology, Product Design, or a related field.

• At least 8 years of professional experience in user research and usability.
