Principal ERP Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the comprehensive architecture for the enterprise SAP landscape.

• Establish target-state design and oversee implementation across the entire program.

• Act as the ultimate technical design authority for SAP S/4HANA solutions.

• Manage the architecture of the SAP Vehicle Management System, including the vehicle object model, action control matrix, action grid design, and vehicle status management.

• Design the vehicle lifecycle from ordering and configuration to production allocation, inbound handling, dealer distribution, and customer delivery.

• Create VMS integration with S/4HANA SD, MM, LE, PP, EWM, FI/CO, and variant configuration.

• Define the architecture for OEM, importer, dealer-facing, aftersales, and warranty processes.

• Establish standards for automotive EDI and B2B integration.

• Architect relevant supply-side automotive processes.

• Own the roadmap position for the SAP automotive portfolio and vehicle solutions.

• Manage integration architecture, patterns, standards, and reuse.

• Define interface design, error handling, monitoring, and reprocessing patterns.

• Establish master data architecture and governance.

• Define architecture for analytics and reporting.

• Set standards for data migration, reconciliation, and cutover validation.

• Chair or serve as a key member of the architecture review board.

• Review, approve, or reject solution designs.

• Publish architecture standards and reusable reference designs.

• Resolve design conflicts and manage architectural debt.

• Mentor architects to enhance design maturity.

• Provide technical oversight on the client side for partners.

• Review designs and deliverables from partners.

• Validate contractual and technical acceptance criteria.

• Offer technical input for SOWs, RFPs, and vendor evaluations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.

• Over 10 years of experience in SAP PP.

• Multiple full lifecycle SAP implementations.

• At least 3 years of experience in SAP S/4HANA solution architecture.

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA greenfield implementation or transformation initiatives.

• Extensive hands-on experience in the automotive industry, including SAP Vehicle Management System (VMS).

• Capability to architect vehicle-centric business processes from start to finish.

• A clear and defensible perspective on clean-core and fit-to-standard design.

• Proficiency in writing functional specifications.

• Experience leading user acceptance testing on the finance side.

• Experience collaborating with implementation partners and IT throughout the go-live and stabilization phases.

• Familiarity with SOX requirements for finance systems.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-stage environment.

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA modules and processes including SD, MM, LE, PP, EWM, FI/CO, and variant configuration.

• Knowledge of automotive EDI and B2B integration, scheduling agreements, delivery schedules, self-billing/ERS, and OEM-specific message standards.
