Principal Engineer – Security Products, Security Visibility

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Define and lead the multi-year technical strategy for Audit Logging, SIEM Integration, and Unified Security Visibility.

• Create resilient, high-throughput audit and telemetry pipelines using Go.

• Design the architecture for the Unified Security Dashboard.

• Develop and implement integrations with top SIEM platforms.

• Spearhead the overhaul of DigitalOcean's audit log infrastructure.

• Collaborate with IAM, Threat Detection, DOKS, Billing, and Platform Engineering teams.

• Set standards for logging schemas, event taxonomy, and observability engineering practices.

• Mentor and nurture the growth of senior and mid-level engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in software engineering.

• At least 4 years focused on audit logging, security telemetry, SIEM integration, or handling high-throughput data pipelines.

• Proficiency in Go and substantial expertise in designing gRPC-based microservices.

• In-depth knowledge of Apache Flink, Apache Kafka, or other similar high-volume stream processing frameworks.

• Demonstrated experience in developing security visibility platforms.

• Familiarity with audit requirements for frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, FedRAMP, and PCI-DSS.

• Skilled in Kubernetes, Terraform (Infrastructure as Code), SQL (MySQL), and analytical or columnar data stores.

• Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional platform initiatives with ambiguity.
