This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Conduct investigations of significant complexity related to the development of innovative designs, methods, materials, or processes.
• Provide expert technical direction and support to R&D for the design and implementation of high-quality new products and processes.
• Ensure that production processes are feasible, high-quality, standardized, and cost-effective.
• Ensure the application of best practices as defined by industry standards and the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team.
• Utilize advanced manufacturing engineering theories and concepts.
• Optimize solutions from a holistic systems perspective.
• Grasp the design specifications of the final product and mentor other engineering disciplines.
• Implement high-quality tools, equipment, and processes, and validate our operational facilities.
• Identify, develop, and lead new and existing methods for verification and validation.
• Execute cost-saving initiatives as outlined by leadership.
• Support business unit leadership in executing roadmaps for core processes and process controls.
• Lead DFM/DFA, Process Development, and PM plans in collaboration with R&D, Suppliers, and Operations.
• Participate in special projects as they emerge.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering or a closely related field (or foreign equivalent).
• A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the job offered or a closely related position.
• Proficiency in Electrical, Pneumatics, and Controls system integration.
• Familiarity with PLC-related programming features and capabilities.
• Experience in the design and development of Mechanical Tools/Fixtures/Equipment.
• Background in a wide range of manufacturing and machining processes.
• Proficient in SolidWorks 3D CAD design software and 3D PLM data storage.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and tools.
• Experience utilizing Problem Solving, Error Proofing techniques, and Assembly Best Practices.
• Familiarity with Six Sigma Methodologies.
• At least three years of process development and validation experience in the medical industry.
• Work from home is allowed 100% of the time from any location in the US.
• 20-25% international and domestic travel required annually.
