Principal Engineer, Digital Workplace Technology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Establish and guide the technical vision, roadmap, and standards for NBCU’s digital workplace platforms encompassing collaboration, endpoints, and AI.

• Oversee the comprehensive architecture for Workplace Technology Engineering, ensuring it aligns with enterprise architecture, security, and compliance requirements.

• Act as a technical authority for intricate system design, scalability, and the long-term advancement of platforms.

• Direct the design and engineering of enterprise workplace services, including Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange Online).

• Ensure that platforms maintain high availability, performance, and security while minimizing operational overhead through automation and standardization.

• Promote global consistency across workplace technologies that support hybrid work environments.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify and prioritize high-value AI use cases throughout NBCU.

• Implement Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles across workplace platforms.

• Function as a senior technical leader and mentor within WTE engineering teams.

• Facilitate architecture reviews, engineering design boards, and forums for technical decision-making.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 12 years of experience in enterprise engineering, platform engineering, or workplace technology.

• Profound expertise in the Microsoft 365 ecosystem (Teams, SharePoint, Exchange, OneDrive).

• Experience with endpoint engineering and device management platforms (Intune, JAMF, SCCM).

• Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably Azure.

• Strong background in AI/ML or enterprise AI engineering, including Copilot or similar platforms.

• Proficient in Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, and Power Platform.

• Understanding of MLOps, DevOps, and best practices in platform engineering.

• Background in media, entertainment, or large global enterprise settings.

• Awareness of NBCU-specific platforms (e.g., Intranet, employee portals, custom digital experiences).

• Demonstrated experience leading significant enterprise platform transformations.

• Strong architectural, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.

• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Solid business acumen, including an understanding and practical application of relevant market and industry trends.

• Ability to excel in a dynamic and fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects that require effective organization and time management.
