This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Take full ownership of cloud infrastructure across our cloud environments, remaining actively engaged with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), and observability in collaboration with the team.
• Manage the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) landscape (development environments, lower environments, release processes, monitoring, and response) to enable engineers to deploy in minutes instead of days.
• Create the framework that allows AI agents to observe, reason, and interact with business systems while ensuring safe defaults, along with the infrastructure that enables non-technical users to deploy and support AI-assisted applications without becoming operational risks.
• Engage in security operations with our SecOps team, focusing on Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM), threat management, and patch management as the infrastructure-side lead for remediation efforts.
• Articulate infrastructure decisions in relation to business outcomes (operational efficiency, financial implications, clinical results), ensuring that progress and trade-offs are transparent to leadership through your working methods.
• Lead and nurture a small yet impactful team, acting as a collaborative peer to leaders in SecOps, Data, IT Systems, and Application Engineering to serve as a cohesive technical entity across the organization.
• You possess an engineering background with extensive hands-on experience managing production infrastructure across at least two major cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure) and are proficient in modern infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform or similar).
• You have designed and maintained contemporary CI/CD systems, development environments, and observability frameworks. The quality of what you've delivered is more significant than the scale of the operations you've overseen.
• You have created and managed infrastructure in various company sizes and business contexts. A broad cross-domain experience is advantageous; familiarity with regulated fields (healthcare, financial services) is beneficial but not mandatory.
• You hold a well-informed perspective on platform philosophy and can justify when to standardize, when to allow flexibility for teams, and how to simplify the safe path.
• You have successfully deployed AI-native operational systems, which may include AI agents for alert triaging, drafting root cause analyses, managing costs, or executing runbooks, as well as frameworks that enable non-traditional contributors (junior engineers, analysts, AI agents, vibe-coders) to deliver safely.
• You are proactive regarding governance and security engagement. You document essential processes, automate where possible, and ensure that procedures do not hinder progress.
• You have experience in building and developing teams with intentional consideration of team composition, addressing skill gaps, and fostering professional growth.
• You are an effective communicator: clear, direct, and concise with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Financial Well-Being: We are dedicated to attracting and retaining top talent by offering a competitive base salary and equity opportunities. Additionally, we provide a performance-based bonus program, 401k matching, and regular salary reviews to acknowledge and reward outstanding contributions.
• Physical Well-Being: We emphasize the health and wellness of our employees and their families by providing comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage. Your health is important to us, and we invest in ensuring you have access to quality healthcare.

• Additional Perks: Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) offering discounted equity opportunities.
• Reimbursement for office setup costs.
• Monthly stipend for cell phone and internet expenses.

• And much more!
