This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the technical vision, architecture, and long-term engineering strategy for the CarePath Loyalty platform, ensuring the systems are scalable, secure, resilient, and adaptable as the business expands.

• Collaborate on the design and evolution of a platform capable of supporting integrations with numerous third-party systems — including pharmaceutical manufacturers and clinic systems — while ensuring reliability, observability, and operational excellence.

• Engage in architecting data pipelines, APIs, and services that facilitate seamless data exchange among veterinary clinics, pet owners, drug manufacturers, and industry partners.

• Work closely with Product, Engineering, Data, and Operations to convert market opportunities and customer requirements into scalable technical solutions that directly support product roadmap planning and prioritization.

• Lead architectural decisions that strike a balance between speed, flexibility, maintainability, and long-term platform health in a rapidly changing product landscape.

• Identify and promote operational efficiencies throughout the platform — collaborating with Operations to streamline processes, minimize manual efforts, and enhance overall system reliability and throughput.

• Manage the end-to-end technical execution of key initiatives — overseeing timelines, dependencies, and cross-functional coordination to guarantee timely delivery and high-quality results.

• Act as a technical point of contact for external stakeholders, including third-party drug manufacturers, corporate clinic groups, and individual veterinary clinics — translating complex technical concepts into clear, business-relevant language.

• Participate in architecture reviews, conduct hands-on technical guidance sessions, and provide project-level oversight for intricate initiatives that span multiple teams and systems.

• Recognize and mitigate technical risks associated with third-party integrations, data quality, platform scalability, and system performance before they affect customers or partners.

• Assess emerging technologies and industry trends related to integrations, data platforms, APIs, and distributed systems to guide the CarePath technical roadmap.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

• Over 10 years of progressive software engineering experience, including at least 3 years in a Staff or Principal Engineer role or a similar technical leadership position.

• Extensive expertise in designing and operating distributed systems, integration platforms, APIs, and data-intensive applications at scale.

• Proven experience in building and supporting complex third-party integrations, preferably within healthcare, veterinary technology, fintech, SaaS, or similarly interconnected ecosystems.

• Strong grasp of system architecture, event-driven design, data modeling, and modern cloud-native application development.

• Demonstrated project management skills — capable of planning, tracking, and driving complex technical initiatives across multiple teams and stakeholders without needing formal PM authority or certification.

• Established operational awareness — experience in identifying inefficiencies in technical workflows or business processes and collaborating cross-functionally to implement significant improvements.

• Experience serving as a technical liaison for external customers, partners, or vendors — with the ability to communicate clearly and build trust with non-technical stakeholders such as clinic operators, corporate group contacts, or pharmaceutical manufacturer partners.

• Proven capability to influence technical direction across multiple teams and foster alignment without formal authority.

• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts in terms of business impact for both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Experience in evaluating architectural trade-offs and making pragmatic decisions that balance immediate business needs with long-term scalability.

• Strong proficiency in modern programming languages and cloud platforms, with the ability to contribute hands-on when necessary.

• Self-motivated and highly collaborative with a builder's mindset, strong business acumen, and a genuine enthusiasm for solving complex problems that affect real customers.
