Principal Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the technical direction for a major product domain or platform capability, ensuring it aligns with company objectives and customer requirements.

• Mitigate systemic complexity by identifying and spearheading architectural debt remediation initiatives, enhancing overall system reliability and maintainability.

• Collaborate with Product and Engineering leadership to evaluate the feasibility of multi-quarter roadmaps, offering technical guidance and recommendations.

• Enhance engineering excellence across various teams through Request for Comments (RFCs) and mentorship, fostering best practices and knowledge sharing.

• Work alongside cross-functional and international teams to design and implement scalable, high-quality software solutions, ensuring timely delivery and customer satisfaction.

• Influence how the team assesses AI-generated code and oversees AI agents, adapting architecture to prepare codebases for agentic contributions.

• Manage the standards for cookbooks and knowledge bases, making institutional knowledge and best practices accessible to both engineers and AI agents.

• Assess and aid in the standardization of agentic development tools across engineering, balancing improvements in velocity with considerations of cost, security, and quality risk.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in the following areas:

• Expertise in .NET/C# with experience in building and scaling production backend services. Familiarity with Python, Java, or Go is a plus.

• Experience in designing, developing, and integrating AI/ML-driven features, including third-party LLM services.

• A working understanding of LLM behavior—including prompt design, output evaluation, and managing non-deterministic results within a product context.

• Practical experience using agentic coding tools or AI pair-programming assistants (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar) in real production workflows, with sound judgment on when to trust versus verify AI-generated output.

• Experience modifying review processes, documentation, or architecture to facilitate AI-agent contributions to a codebase.

• Proficiency with relational databases, such as Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL, including data modeling and query optimization.

• Familiarity with a major cloud platform, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, including deployment, scaling, and infrastructure management.

• Strong understanding of software design patterns, principles, and methodologies, with the capability to apply them to complex problems.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to work effectively with cross-functional and international teams and stakeholders.
