Principal DevOps Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the platform architecture and the technical roadmap encompassing infrastructure, deployment, observability, and the AI platform.

• Establish engineering standards, patterns, and best practices for infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and AI tools.

• Serve as a hands-on technical leader and mentor for engineers across various teams.

• Oversee all cloud infrastructure management using Terraform.

• Implement policy-as-code to ensure compliance with security and cost guidelines.

• Design and deploy AWS infrastructure to optimize performance, availability, recoverability, and security.

• Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines for large-scale applications hosted on AWS.

• Take charge of release management and rollback procedures.

• Lead the SLI/SLO/SLA initiatives and manage error budgets effectively.

• Provision and manage the AI/ML platform.

• Operate and support agentic and MCP tooling utilized across engineering and operations teams.

• Oversee cloud financial management (FinOps).


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or equivalent technical education and work experience.

• Over 10 years of experience in SRE/DevOps/platform engineering with a focus on CI/CD, REST API deployment, containerization, IaaS/PaaS, data pipelines, and application observability.

• Proven expertise as a technical authority across multiple teams.

• Demonstrated capability to drive the adoption of new practices or platforms across diverse teams.

• Hands-on proficiency with Terraform, including the creation of reusable modules.

• Experience in building and operating CI/CD pipelines for large-scale applications on AWS.

• Familiarity with running containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes.

• Knowledge in monitoring and troubleshooting with cloud-native tools and OpenTelemetry.

• Linux system administration, Unix scripting, and automation experience.

• More than 2 years of experience with one or more from PHP, MySQL, and SQL is advantageous.

• Experience in environments compliant with HIPAA/HITECH/HITRUST/PHI/PII or PCI DSS.
