Principal Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Spearhead statistical analysis and machine learning initiatives from inception to deployment, ensuring they align with business goals.

• Create models and analyses customized to client requirements and provide actionable insights based on the outcomes.

• Clearly articulate and present intricate data findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to utilize data insights and cultivate a data-driven culture.

• Guide junior data scientists and offer leadership on best practices in data science methodologies.

• Keep abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in data science to promote innovation and improve service offerings.

• Oversee multiple projects and teams, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality results.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s or PhD degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

• Over 8 years of experience in data science, analytics, or a related field, with a strong emphasis on machine learning.

• In-depth experience with essential programming languages like Python and R, along with data manipulation and visualization libraries.

• Preferred experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).

• Strong grasp of machine learning algorithms and statistical techniques, including regression, classification, clustering, and time-series analysis.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities with a knack for critical thinking and devising innovative data-driven solutions.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex information in a clear manner.

• Proven track record of leading projects and collaborating effectively within a team setting.

• Experience in managing large datasets and utilizing data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

• Familiarity with the Retail or CPG industry is advantageous.
