Principal Data Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Direct the execution of data strategy, oversee the data supply chain, and lead initiatives for metadata maturity.

• Manage operations of the data platform, including distributed processing, programming, and query languages.

• Enhance and streamline processes for source onboarding, ingestion, transformation, and data quality.

• Promote the advancement of the program’s data trust model.

• Establish and oversee practices related to data quality and processing timeliness.

• Collaborate effectively with data owners and various teams.

• Ensure the progression of metadata maturity is maintained as a monitored, multi-year initiative.

• Facilitate governed self-service analytics, certified dashboards, and secure sharing of data.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or another relevant scientific or technical field.

• Twelve years of overall experience in information technology.

• Over 14 years of experience in software engineering.

• All applicants must successfully obtain public trust clearance through the U.S. Federal Government.

• Proven track record in leading enterprise data strategy, data engineering, data governance, metadata management, data quality, or data platform operations.

• Experience with lakehouse or similar data platform operations.

• Familiarity with distributed processing, programming and query languages, governance layers, metadata management, data lineage, data cataloging, and the promotion of governed data assets.

• Capability to define and manage standards for data quality, criteria for data promotion, and patterns for source onboarding.

• Experience in working collaboratively with product, engineering, business intelligence, AI/ML, security, privacy, support, and business stakeholders.

• Understanding of sensitive government data handling protocols.
