This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of Vibe’s primary data flows, sources of truth, and ownership structures.
• Assist in defining schemas, data contracts, documentation, and standards for data usage throughout the organization.
• Enhance data discoverability so teams can confidently recognize what data is available, its location, and how to utilize it.
• Establish practical standards concerning data quality, lineage, observability, and ownership.
• Define, uphold, and enforce data lifecycle policies.
• Assist teams in monitoring data costs and usage.
• Define and implement data compliance practices that align with Vibe’s business, partners, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with Legal, Product, Security, and Engineering departments to evaluate the impact of new data sources, partnerships, and use cases.
• Clarify the permissible use of data, its storage requirements, and retention periods.
• Support Vibe's capability to engage confidently with premium publishers, enterprise advertisers, and strategic partners.
• Create guardrails instead of gatekeeping, allowing engineers and teams to move swiftly while making safe, compliant choices.
• Integrate governance and compliance into existing engineering workflows, tools, and architectural decisions.
• Assist Vibe in transitioning to a more security- and compliance-focused data culture.
• Identify significant risks, gaps, and opportunities, and outline a pragmatic roadmap to address them.
• Hands-on experience in constructing or managing large-scale data platforms.
• Strong practical knowledge of data governance, data quality, data contracts, lineage, access control, or compliance-focused data architecture.
• A proven history of implementing compliance frameworks in real engineering environments.
• Experience handling sensitive, regulated, or contractually restricted data.
• Ability to convert legal, compliance, security, and business requirements into actionable engineering solutions.
• Strong stakeholder management abilities across Engineering, Product, Legal, Security, and Analytics.
• Capability to function as a senior individual contributor with a high level of ownership and influence.
• Comfort with ambiguity, early-stage environments, and establishing structure where it is lacking.
• Located in Europe, or able to collaborate closely with European engineering teams.
