Principal Data Engineer – Global

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Direct the technical strategy of a data engineering team in collaboration with product and platform leaders.

• Create and implement scalable, event-driven data pipelines and platform services.

• Design data models and infrastructure that facilitate analytics, operational systems, and AI applications.

• Collaborate closely with AI engineers and application teams to ensure data is organized for intelligent applications.

• Guide and mentor engineers to elevate the overall quality of data engineering practices.

• Contribute to the development of architectural patterns and engineering methodologies throughout the organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 12 years of experience in data engineering or backend software engineering.

• Extensive experience in designing large-scale data pipelines and distributed data systems.

• Proficient in SQL and strong programming skills in languages like Python.

• Experience in creating event-driven data architectures utilizing modern cloud services (AWS is preferred).

• In-depth knowledge of relational and analytical data platforms.

• Experience in designing data models and data contracts for microservices architectures.

• Familiarity with streaming architectures and real-time data pipelines.

• Strong foundation in Software Engineering principles, including API design, microservices, and system integration patterns.

• Hands-on experience with cloud-native environments (AWS, GCP, or equivalent).
