Principal Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Direct the technical strategy for the flow, scalability, and decision-making capabilities of data at JobGet.

• Take ownership of the data architecture that supports the platform.

• Lead architectural decision-making processes.

• Advocate for the adoption of a modern data stack.

• Ensure the reliability of the platform.

• Develop production-ready data pipelines.

• Set standards for data modeling.

• Address intricate data integration and performance issues.

• Design and enhance the infrastructure for streaming data.

• Facilitate machine learning at scale.

• Create and enforce data governance standards.

• Implement frameworks for data validation.

• Elevate technical capabilities through mentorship.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in data engineering.

• 3 to 5 years of experience operating at a principal or staff IC level within a startup setting.

• Hands-on experience with production-grade Snowflake and dbt.

• Strong preference for experience with real-time streaming technologies, such as KSQL or Apache Flink.

• Practical AWS experience at scale.

• Familiarity with DataOps, particularly in CI/CD for data pipelines.

• Proven experience incorporating AI into daily engineering tasks.

• Expert-level skills in Python and SQL.

• Solid background in data modeling.

• Experience building data infrastructures that support ML and AI systems.

• Established track record of setting technical benchmarks across teams.

• Strong understanding of data governance principles.

• Outstanding communication and stakeholder management abilities.
