This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Support and oversee the execution of GHG inventory services, encompassing operational Scope 1+2 and value chain Scope 3 inventories, FLAG GHG accounting, and both voluntary and regulated compliance advisory for GHG emissions reporting, benchmarking, and information system and data planning, utilizing Anthesis’ proprietary GHG accounting platform, Anthesis RouteZero, along with additional tools.
• Manage multiple projects throughout their lifecycle, ensuring they deliver significant value to our clients while adhering to timelines and budgets.
• Prepare reports and presentations that effectively communicate key insights and facilitate strategic decision-making.
• Offer guidance and technical leadership to clients and colleagues regarding leading practices, standards, and trends, integrating this expertise into consulting projects, proposals, and the development of new services.
• Collaborate with client managers to create and present proposals, while also generating your own leads with existing clients, showcasing an understanding of their business and innovative project scopes to help them achieve their objectives.
• Cultivate and strengthen client relationships, serving as the primary point of contact and establishing a trusted advisor relationship, with a steadfast commitment to aiding them in defining and reaching their sustainability goals.
• Collaborate with the global expert community within Anthesis to develop and introduce new service offerings and solutions related to GHG accounting.
• Assist in overseeing the implementation of quality management processes within the GHG Accounting service line and perform QA/QC reviews of GHG inventories.
• Manage direct reports, including conducting performance evaluations, setting goals, and providing mentorship and guidance for career development.
• A Bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences, mathematics, engineering, science, economics, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree in a related field is preferred.
• Over 8 years of experience in corporate GHG emissions accounting across various sectors, gained either in-house or in a consultancy environment.
• Expertise in calculating and reporting Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, with proven experience in key areas such as defining inventory boundaries, accounting for renewable energy, and assessing supply chain emissions using various methods (EEIO, LCA, supplier-specific data); additional experience with FLAG emissions accounting is preferred.
• Knowledge of Life Cycle Assessments and Product Carbon Footprints.
• Familiarity with carbon accounting and reporting standards and programs (e.g., ISO 14064, GHG Protocol, TCR).
• Awareness of current and emerging policies and regulatory drivers affecting GHG emissions disclosure and management in North America and globally.
• Acquainted with a selection of carbon management enterprise software solutions.
• Demonstrated project management capabilities.
• Experience with third-party audits of GHG inventories and interactions with auditors/assurance providers.
• Experience in broader ESG strategy, data analytics, and/or corporate disclosures preparation (CDP, GRI, SASB) is a plus.
