Principal Combustion Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Act as the subject-matter authority for combustion systems, furnace operations, and boiler performance across all Reworld Waste-to-Energy sites.

• Analyze operational data, trends, and transient occurrences to uncover cause-and-effect relationships that influence performance, reliability, and emissions.

• Offer expert advice on adjustments to control strategies, operational targets, and system interactions that impact combustion stability and throughput.

• Assist plants and leadership in understanding the key factors, their significance, and what may not be relevant within the expected skill set.

• Facilitate root cause analyses concerning environmental exceedances, unusual emissions events, and deviations in combustion-related operations.

• Foster trusted relationships with plant personnel by actively listening, demonstrating technical expertise, and appreciating operational insights.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering field.

• At least 8–10 years of experience in combustion systems, boiler performance, thermal processes, or industrial power generation.

• Proven experience in providing support to operating facilities in a senior technical or advisory role.

• Established ability to gather and analyze complex operational data and convert findings into actionable, impactful recommendations.
