This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Create dashboards for spend visibility categorized by product, product feature, tenant, and team.
• Collaborate with Engineering infrastructure and product teams to establish a tagging taxonomy, pinpoint tagging deficiencies, and enhance tagging for improved reporting.
• Make Cloud and AI spending billing data accessible in analytics and reporting tools, along with automated exports to Excel/Google Sheets and financial systems.
• Develop forecasting models for cloud spending that incorporate sales projections and product roadmap plans.
• Set up spend alerts based on established budgets and forecasts.
• Lead investigations into spending anomalies.
• Create capabilities to monitor the unit economics of the product portfolio.
• Work alongside product feature teams to enhance visibility on metrics such as cost per customer, per operation, per API request, and AI token usage rates.
• Extensive experience as a FinOps cloud spend analyst with a major cloud service provider.
• In-depth knowledge of cost and usage data along with SQL-based billing analysis, ideally on AWS.
• Proficient in exploratory data analysis using SQL.
• Ability to analyze and investigate large, complex billing datasets.
• Experienced in analyzing a cloud provider's billing data using SQL.
• Capable of independently investigating discrepancies, identifying cost drivers, and addressing inquiries regarding spending.
• Background in a FinOps role at a B2B SaaS organization with a multi-tenant architecture.
• Understanding the challenges of attributing shared infrastructure costs to specific customers or product features.
• Proven experience in creating cost reports and dashboards for spend visibility.
• Familiarity with BI tools such as AWS QuickSight, GCP Data Studio, Tableau, Looker, or similar platforms.
• Proficient spreadsheet skills.
• Experience collaborating with Engineering on tagging and labeling, and enhancing cost visibility in development workflows.
• Knowledge of savings mechanisms in AWS/GCP/Azure.
