This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Create end-to-end platform patterns, develop reference implementations, document the rationale, and collaborate with implementation teams for rollout.
• Remain actively engaged in proofs of concept and initial enablement, crafting reference implementations and submitting pull requests.
• Participate in weekly architecture reviews utilizing a consistent documented rubric.
• Enhance the standards library and Architecture Decision Records.
• Provide architectural stewardship for domains involving cloud infrastructure or data architecture.
• Take ownership of cloud runtime, networking, service mesh, container platforms, infrastructure scalability, resilience, and security, or manage event streaming, databases, pipelines, warehouses, and lakehouse strategies.
• Assess emerging technologies through structured proofs of concept and establish standards for technology onboarding and phase-out.
• Lead evaluations for vendor changes and consolidations, collaborating with FinOps on cost optimization.
• Facilitate design reviews and workshops while advising engineering teams on complex infrastructure decisions.
• Make architectural patterns accessible and self-service.
• Contribute to a multi-year platform strategy focused on developer experience, delivery pipelines, and AI-augmented architecture review tools.
• Established history of setting technical direction across large-scale cloud, networking, data, or delivery systems.
• Hands-on experience with GCP and/or AWS in production environments.
• Strong understanding of multi-cloud trade-offs.
• Practical experience with Kubernetes, including GKE or equivalent.
• High proficiency in Terraform and GitOps workflows.
• Experience in designing and reviewing reusable infrastructure-as-code modules.
• In-depth knowledge of cloud infrastructure architecture or data architecture.
• Familiarity with cloud-native networking, Kubernetes, service mesh, mTLS, scalability, resilience, cost efficiency, and infrastructure/network security, along with messaging, databases, analytics, pipelines, and open table formats.
• Capability to delve into code, validate patterns, and assess system behavior under load.
• Strong technical leadership, writing, and presentation abilities.
• Proven record of driving standards adoption without formal managerial authority.
• Proficient in conducting rigorous technology evaluations and proofs of concept.
• General knowledge of AI/ML infrastructure, including model serving, vector databases, inference costs, and latency trade-offs.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10-15+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, platform, DevOps, or data architecture.
