Principal Applied AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Address significant challenges across product and internal systems, pinpointing where AI or automation can deliver tangible benefits.

• Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and business teams to comprehend issues, clarify objectives, and establish the appropriate strategy.

• Develop practical, end-to-end solutions encompassing architecture, technical strategies, and production-ready systems.

• Create systems that incorporate LLMs, integrations, and multi-step or agent-based workflows.

• Make informed engineering choices regarding model selection, orchestration, evaluation, latency, cost, reliability, security, and maintainability.

• Produce high-quality production code, develop prototypes, and enhance them into robust, scalable solutions.

• Shape technical direction across teams, establish best practices, and assist others in effectively adopting AI.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in software engineering.

• Proficient in system design and backend engineering.

• Demonstrated experience in developing and deploying AI / LLM-based solutions.

• Capability to transition from problem definition to architecture and implementation.

• Experience with automation, workflows, or systems resembling agent-like behavior.

• Hands-on mentality and readiness to write production code.

• Strong engineering judgment, including the ability to discern when not to employ AI.

• Proficient in both Polish and English (minimum C1 level).

• Proven experience in cross-team collaboration and influencing technical choices.

• Demonstrates curiosity, ownership, and a keen interest in practical AI applications.

• Nice to have: Proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js (our primary technology stack), or eagerness to work extensively in this environment.

• Experience in AI applications for developer tools or internal systems.

• Familiarity with agent-based systems or orchestration frameworks.

• Experience with production systems focusing on performance, reliability, and scalability.
