Principal AI Search, Conversation Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• You will design the AI orchestration layer that underpins every AskOle conversation.

• This position is responsible for the systems that interpret user intent, ascertain the information required to fulfill a request, gather data from various real-time providers, navigate competing options, and generate conversational responses that guide users from exploration to transaction.

• The ideal candidate will create the AI orchestration layer that integrates multiple large language models, specialized agents, retrieval systems, recommendation engines, and external APIs into a cohesive conversational experience.

• The Principal Architect will establish the technical vision, set architectural standards, assess emerging AI technologies, mentor senior engineers, and make strategic long-term decisions regarding LLM strategy, retrieval architecture, agent design, memory management, semantic search, vector databases, and AI evaluation frameworks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in architecting and delivering production-scale AI platforms utilized by a large user base.

• Proven leadership in roles such as Principal Engineer, Chief Architect, Distinguished Engineer, or equivalent senior technical position.

• Extensive knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs), AI agents, multi-agent systems, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), semantic search, and contemporary AI orchestration frameworks.

• Strong grasp of recommendation engines, ranking algorithms, personalization, and conversational AI.

• Significant experience in designing distributed, cloud-native systems capable of operating on a global scale with high availability and low latency.

• Practical experience in integrating complex third-party APIs and developing systems that merge multiple real-time data sources into a cohesive experience.

• Outstanding architectural judgment with the ability to distill complex technical challenges into scalable, maintainable solutions.

• Proven capability to lead senior engineering teams, mentor architects and principal engineers, establish engineering standards, and make long-term technical decisions.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, product, and executive leadership.

• An entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for creating category-defining products and addressing previously unsolved problems.
