Price Reporter – Metals, Bilingual Spanish/English

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Cultivate a comprehensive understanding of the core principles, supply chains, end uses, and primary market players within the metals recycling sector, covering both ferrous and non-ferrous domains.

• Gather pricing information and establish price assessments according to the company’s methodology, pricing specifications, and principles, adhering to IOSCO guidelines.

• Compose market analyses, breaking news articles, and insightful content with a focus on price reporting.

• Support colleagues on their pricing responsibilities to ensure coverage and consistency in the market while enhancing a broader knowledge base.

• Conduct peer reviews of prices to confirm adherence to established processes and appropriate editorial judgment, ensuring our pricing is accurate and representative.

• Develop and increase the network of industry contacts who provide pricing data and exclusive news.

• Address inquiries from contacts and the market regarding the specifics of pricing sessions, seeking assistance when dealing with sensitive questions.

• Assist in promoting Fastmarkets’ pricing and expertise through the team’s market engagement strategies.

• Represent the company at events and webinars, and moderate panel discussions as deemed suitable by editors.

• Proficiency in both written and spoken Spanish and English is essential.

• A keen interest in and understanding of financial markets and commodities is expected.

• Experience in pricing is advantageous, though not mandatory.

• Journalistic reporting experience is beneficial, but not a requirement.

• Excellent networking and communication skills, along with a confident telephone demeanor.

• A collaborative team member who promotes a positive work culture and interacts with all stakeholders in a respectful and professional manner, exhibiting impeccable integrity.

• Capability to work with numerical data and spreadsheets to produce analytical editorial content.

• Willingness to travel for business via plane, train, or car.
