Presales Cybersecurity Advisor – Cisco, Splunk

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.

📋 Description

• Lead the generation of pipelines for services and technologies to achieve or surpass quarterly and annual quota goals in collaboration with account and domain teams, focusing on Cisco and Splunk opportunities.

• Adhere to Optiv's Standardized Sales Operating Processes (SOPs) to ensure consistent success.

• Maintain a high level of expertise regarding the client's security environment, business operations, security requirements, and risk tolerance.

• Identify applications of Cisco and Splunk-related security toolsets and assess how they integrate into Optiv's strategic solutions across the designated domain and comprehensive cybersecurity programs.

• Recognize opportunities for cross-selling and upselling within clients and Optiv's partner ecosystem.

• Qualify, lead, and collaborate with internal colleagues to define scope, manage proposals, and ensure follow-through to closure.

• Engage in sales opportunities across Optiv's full portfolio related to Cisco and Splunk products, services, and advisement.

• Clearly convey how essential elements of Cisco and Splunk technology and the Optiv services portfolio address the specific needs of client stakeholders at the executive level.

• Stay informed about industry trends and news, maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the Cisco and Splunk portfolio landscape to support thought leadership, internal and external assistance, analysis, and client guidance.

• Work with service delivery teams to ensure they have the required domain specialty materials that present a cohesive and thorough approach to Cisco and Splunk solutions.

• Effectively collaborate with various client personas, including CxOs, to develop Cisco and Splunk products and services, advisement, and security strategies, while defining roadmaps to execute on business goals aligned with Cisco and Splunk strategies, budgets, and return on investment metrics.

• Cultivate advisory relationships with key client stakeholders by providing thought leadership, support, information, and direction alongside Cisco and Splunk peers.

• Maintain strong collaborations with Cisco and Splunk teams and leadership, focusing on client spend, Optiv CoE priorities, and the Cisco and Splunk portfolio solutions.

• Identify and drive security programs that align with client objectives across Cisco and Splunk portfolio solutions and Optiv services, including initiating discussions, performing requirements analysis, and coordinating technology demonstrations and evaluations across organizations.

• Partner with internal Optiv teams to align client expectations regarding Cisco and Splunk with the entire Optiv solution portfolio to ensure excellence in technology and service delivery, as well as client satisfaction.

• Discover new and emerging technologies and products for internal enablement and client exposure, particularly regarding Cisco and Splunk integrations with key partners.

• Advocate for Optiv's portfolio and security awareness, highlighting the added value of our Cisco and Splunk partnership at speaking engagements, partner events, through industry articles, and on social media.

• Uphold a reputation as a trusted advisor among clients, partners, peers, and the cybersecurity community, resulting in a valuable network of contacts.

• Actively listen for client feedback and consistently share insights with internal teams to foster continuous improvement.

• Engage in account planning, forecasting, and pipeline management activities related to the growth of Optiv, Cisco, and Splunk's pipeline, closed business, and industry visibility.

• Participate in managing and prioritizing the proposal process to create business proposals, contracts, and responses to RFI/RFPs.

• Pursue personal development by enhancing technical capabilities, soft skills, and security-specific knowledge through formal education, Cisco and Splunk certification, and other avenues.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.

• A minimum of ten (10) years in an information security role, ideally as a consulting advisor, architect, team leader, director, or higher.

• A highly motivated self-starter who does not require daily management.

• Ability to thrive in a highly adaptable and agile team environment with responsive communication.

• Comprehensive understanding of the current threat landscape, vulnerabilities, and defensive measures in relation to Cisco and Splunk.

• Strong business and technical acumen with the capacity to lead technology-focused discussions regarding Cisco and Splunk.

• Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills to clients, including proficiency in whiteboard sessions and other presentation formats.

• Keen attention to detail when reviewing statements of work (SOWs), quotes, and client deliverables.

• Expands and shares extensive security-related knowledge, continuously enhancing expertise in other domains across the portfolio for a holistic approach to Cisco and Splunk.

• Vendor-specific certifications, particularly focused on Cisco and Splunk, along with related industry certification areas of CoE emphasis.

• A valid driver's license or other government-issued identification.

• Willingness to travel within the US and Canada, as well as internationally as required.

• Relevant professional cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, CISA, CISM, CCSP, or others related to Cisco and Splunk.

• Experience in speaking and promoting technology and Cisco and Splunk thought leadership and vision at various events.

• Prior experience in leading an information security function or program.
