Pre Sales Application Engineer – Productivity Solutions, SAP IDO

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malaysia.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with sales teams to leverage informatics solution opportunities through impactful technical presentations, live demonstrations, and proof-of-concept (PoC) setups.

• Comprehend customer workflows, regulatory standards, and IT infrastructures to create tailored LIMS, ELN, and informatics architectures.

• Convert business and laboratory obstacles into value-driven technical solutions that align with customer objectives (e.g., data integrity, compliance, productivity, digital transformation).

• Offer technical guidance during customer onboarding, configuration, validation support, and the go-live stages.

• Conduct user training, administrator training, and provide best-practice recommendations for LIMS, ELN, and informatics platforms.

• Counsel customers on informatics best practices in accordance with regulatory standards such as GxP (GLP, GMP, GCP), FDA 21 CFR Part 11, EU Annex 11, and Data Integrity (ALCOA+) principles.

• Serve as the “voice of the customer” by delivering structured feedback to product management and R&D teams regarding product performance, feature gaps, and market trends.

• Work collaboratively across sales, services, marketing, support, and product teams to enhance overall business success.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or a related scientific field.

• 5-8+ years of experience in laboratory informatics, applications, or laboratory operations.

• Practical experience with one or more of the following: LIMS (e.g., OpenLAB SLIMS, SampleManager, LabWare, STARLIMS), ELN (e.g., OpenLAB ELN, Benchling, Dotmatics), SDMS, CDS, or scientific data platforms.

• Strong knowledge of laboratory workflows in pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, QA/QC, R&D, or regulated environments.

• Understanding of system integrations (REST APIs, web services, instrument interfaces, ERP/LIMS/CDS integration).

• Familiarity with cloud, on-premise, and hybrid deployment models.
