📋 Description

• Assist in the public relations function by managing daily tasks such as media list development, outreach efforts, press materials preparation, and campaign implementation.

• Conduct research on pertinent journalists, editors, and media outlets within the business, technology, and startup sectors.

• Keep media lists organized and up to date within a shared tracking system.

• Aid in categorizing lists according to topic, beat, and campaign focus.

• Dispatch pitches and follow-up communications utilizing pre-prepared messaging and templates.

• Monitor outreach activities and document journalist responses.

• Assist in revising press releases, pitch templates, and briefing documents.

• Provide light writing support (not involved in strategy development).

• Help coordinate media outreach efforts during product launches and announcements.

• Support the scheduling and logistical arrangements for PR campaigns.

• Maintain straightforward spreadsheets to track outreach activities and media coverage.

• Record responses, email opens, and media placements.

⛳️ Requirements

• 0–2 years of experience in public relations, communications, journalism, or marketing.

• Some practical exposure to media outreach, pitching, or content creation (internship, agency experience, or in-house role).

• Excellent writing and editing capabilities.

• Proficient in using Google Sheets and Docs while maintaining high levels of organization.

• Genuine interest in startups, technology, or branding.

• Openness to learning, accepting feedback, and consistently executing tasks.

• Experience as an intern or assistant at a PR agency (Nice to Have).

• Familiarity with tech/startup clients (Nice to Have).

• Knowledge of tools such as Cision, MuckRack, or similar (Nice to Have).

• Basic understanding of journalist workflows and press cycles (Nice to Have).

• Interest in AI, startups, or the branding domain (Nice to Have).
