This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Oversee the implementation of engineering and design initiatives for designated power generation and industrial projects through direct engagement and the coordination of multidisciplinary teams.
• Manage all aspects of project scope, timeline, budget, quality, and deliverables during the entire project lifecycle.
• Direct and coordinate engineers, designers, subcontractors, and technical experts to ensure effective project execution.
• Assist in the preparation of engineering proposals, scopes of work, project timelines, labor estimates, and cost projections.
• Act as the main point of contact for clients, fostering strong relationships through proactive communication and effective issue resolution.
• Lead both internal and external project review meetings, design evaluations, and progress briefings.
• Evaluate engineering calculations, technical documents, drawings, and specifications for quality assurance and completeness.
• Support projects related to power generation facilities, encompassing balance of plant systems, electrical enhancements, controls integration, emissions systems, fuel handling systems, and associated infrastructure.
• Collaborate with business development and operational leadership to formulate proposal strategies, pursue client opportunities, and position projects effectively.
• Ensure project execution adheres to Orbital’s quality management system, client requirements, and relevant industry codes and regulations.
• Facilitate continuous improvement efforts, document lessons learned, and contribute to the development of technical standards and best practices.
• Effectively collaborate with other Orbital service lines to provide integrated engineering solutions.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil/Structural, Chemical, or a relevant technical field).
• At least 8 years of experience in engineering and/or project management within power generation, utilities, EPC, consulting engineering, or other heavy industrial settings.
• Proven experience in managing multidisciplinary engineering projects that involve complex industrial systems and client interactions.
• Familiarity with power generation systems, design of industrial facilities, or plant infrastructure projects.
• Strong grasp of project management principles, project controls, scheduling, budgeting, and resource management.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a strong aptitude for client relationship management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, and standard engineering/project management software tools.
• Capability to work efficiently in a collaborative team environment while juggling multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to client sites and project locations as necessary.
