This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Accountable for the ongoing upkeep and repair of both contracted and non-contracted generator and power distribution equipment.
• Provide technical assistance to customers regarding operational or maintenance concerns.
• Offer 24x7 “on-call” services as needed.
• Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance services on equipment covered by contract.
• Safeguard and maintain all company-issued tools, equipment, and instruments.
• Oversee and manage all on-site subcontractors engaged by PSS as required.
• Ensure that all work complies with PSS standards.
• Accurately and promptly complete all necessary paperwork, including Field Service Reports, Time Sheets, Expense Reports, and any other job-required documentation.
• Deliver technical support to customers upon request.
• Maintain technical documentation for study and review purposes.
• Minimum Qualifications for a Level II Technician include three years of field experience in servicing generator systems, with some experience on 500kw+ units.
• A Proficient Level III Technician must have six years of field experience in servicing generator systems, with extensive expertise on 500KW+ units.
• Experience with preventative maintenance, paralleling switch gear, ATS repairs, controller retrofits, and Loadbanking equipment is essential.
• Expertise in preventative maintenance, paralleling switch gear, retrofitting advanced controls, and Loadbanking equipment is required.
• Capability to conduct triennial maintenance, engine diagnostics, fuel system priming, and replacement of failed engine components.
• All candidates must possess a High School diploma or equivalent GED.
• Related military experience or equivalent field experience is preferred.
• Exceptional troubleshooting skills are necessary.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical instructions, safety manuals, service manuals, and policies and procedures is required.
• Candidates must pass pre-employment screening, which includes a background check, drug testing, and MVR clearance.
