Power BI Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Oversee the comprehensive migration of Tableau workbooks and dashboards to Power BI, covering aspects such as report layout, logic, and data source connectivity.

• Evaluate current Tableau environments to catalog report inventory, calculated fields, and data connections in preparation for the migration process.

• Construct and enhance Power BI semantic models to facilitate enterprise-level reporting and self-service analytics.

• Create DAX measures that correspond to Tableau calculated fields and table calculations.

• Design and produce Power BI reports and dashboards, prioritizing performance, usability, and visual coherence.

• Collaborate with data engineers and ETL developers to guarantee clean, efficient data pipelines that support the migrated reports.

• Facilitate knowledge transfer sessions and training for business users transitioning from Tableau to Power BI.

• Document migration decisions, DAX logic, and model designs to ensure maintainability and support future developments.

• Provide guidance to clients regarding Power BI governance, workspace organization, and best practices following migration.

• Assist with ongoing Power BI development and enhancements beyond the initial migration scope as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of practical Power BI development experience, encompassing report design and semantic modeling.

• Proficient in DAX, with a proven ability to replicate complex Tableau calculations, including:

• o Time intelligence and date filtering

• o Rolling metrics and cumulative totals

• o Context transitions and dynamic filtering

• Strong comprehension of data modeling principles, including facts, dimensions, grain, and relationships.

• Exceptional communication skills, capable of articulating technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders.
