This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• Develop sophisticated and visually appealing Power BI dashboards and reports that influence business decisions.
• Create advanced DAX calculations, measures, and calculated columns to fulfill complex analytical needs.
• Craft intuitive, user-friendly interfaces featuring custom visuals, drill-through options, and interactive functionalities.
• Implement dynamic reporting features such as bookmarks, parameters, field parameters, and dynamic formatting.
• Construct composite models and utilize advanced functionalities including aggregations, incremental refresh, and query folding.
• Design, create, and manage scalable data pipelines along with ETL/ELT processes using Power Query, Dataflows, and Azure Data Factory.
• Develop and enhance data models employing star schema, snowflake schema, and other dimensional modeling strategies.
• Write and optimize intricate SQL queries, stored procedures, and database functions to ensure performance and efficiency.
• Enhance report performance through query optimization, data model refinement, and DAX adjustments.
• Integrate Power BI with various data sources such as SQL databases, APIs, SharePoint, Excel, and cloud platforms.
• Automate data refresh schedules and oversee gateway configurations.
• Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in Power BI development (Desktop, Service, and Report Server).
• Expert-level knowledge of DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and Power Query (M language).
• Strong SQL capabilities with a background in database design, query optimization, and performance enhancement.
• Comprehensive understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and ETL principles.
• Familiarity with data visualization best practices and UI/UX design principles.
• Proficient in Azure data services (Azure SQL Database, Synapse Analytics, Data Factory, or Fabric).
• In-depth knowledge of data modeling techniques and relationships (one-to-many, many-to-many, bi-directional).
• Strong understanding of statistical concepts and analytical methodologies.
• Excellent communication skills to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems.
• This position may qualify for participation in a discretionary bonus plan based on both company and individual performance.
• Hiring bonuses (along with any guaranteed year-end bonuses) are governed by Company policy and are not accrued until all specified conditions are fulfilled (e.g., maintaining active employment on the payment date).
