This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Design and implement AI, muon tomography, seismic imaging, and geophysical inversion techniques to identify and characterize deposits of copper, nickel, lithium, cobalt, and rare earth elements.
• Create stochastic and ensemble inversion frameworks that integrate muon flux, seismic, magnetic, gravity, and EM data to develop 3D subsurface property models.
• Conduct forward modeling, sensor placement optimization, and inversion of cosmic-ray muon attenuation data.
• Utilize deep generative models, geostatistical priors, and physics-informed neural networks for resource estimation purposes.
• Enhance Mineral-X’s intelligent agent framework to facilitate data acquisition decision-making.
• A PhD (completed within the last 4 years) in physics, applied physics, geophysics, computational earth sciences, machine learning, applied mathematics, or a related discipline.
• Proficient in Python (NumPy, PyTorch or JAX, scientific stack); experience in HPC, GPU computing, and reproducible research workflows.
• Proven publication record in peer-reviewed journals and a willingness to collaborate directly with industry partners and field data.
