Portuguese Simultaneous Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Conduct remote interpretation sessions with professionalism, adhering to the Interpreter’s code of conduct.

• Be ready to take notes during interpretation sessions.

• Acquaint yourself with industry-specific terminology, especially in the healthcare and medical sectors.

• Ensure interpretations are accurate and complete, without adding, omitting, or substituting any information.

• Deliver exceptional customer service throughout interpretation sessions.

• Facilitate clear communication between clients and individuals with limited English proficiency.

• Engage in internal professional training and seek additional certifications as necessary.

• Maintain consistent communication and provide updates to your team leader.

• Follow dress code guidelines for remote interpretation sessions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Native fluency in Portuguese and proficiency in English.

• At least 1 year of experience in remote simultaneous interpretation with a reputable organization.

• Strong knowledge of medical terminology; familiarity with legal terminology is an added advantage.

• International certifications in healthcare or interpretation (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA) are beneficial.

• High school diploma (in your native language).

• High emotional intelligence along with cultural sensitivity and tolerance.

• Excellent skills in communication, active listening, note-taking, and memory retention.
