POD Manager — Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Assist in shaping both strategic and tactical planning for FSQR initiatives throughout the NA region while taking ownership of the execution process for the Canada FSQR team.

• Guide and nurture team talent through succession planning for critical positions, performance management, coaching, mentoring, and recruitment efforts.

• Examine, assess, and interpret external regulations alongside customer and supplier standards, then apply necessary policies and procedures to guarantee compliance with relevant laws and regulations for the Canada POD.

• Build and sustain leadership partnerships and relationships with key stakeholders across cross-functional teams to foster an integrated safety and quality culture while supporting business strategies.

• Proactively facilitate the resolution of highly complex issues, anticipating risks and implementing preventive measures or mitigation strategies as needed.

• Aid in the development and promotion of new innovations, continuous improvement initiatives, and process sustainability.

• Support capital investments, both base and non-base, for Canada and the wider NA regions to uphold and improve food safety management systems and product safety.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree, certificate, or bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Experience in food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs.

• At least four years of relevant work experience.

• A minimum of two years of direct supervisory experience, which includes performance management.

• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

• Must possess legal authorization to work for Cargill in Canada.

• Bilingual proficiency in Canadian French and English, as this position will support all of Canada.

• Familiarity with products, food, animal feed, and health, safety, and quality practices and systems.

• Demonstrated experience in formulating business strategies.

• Proven ability to collaborate and partner across various functions.

• Established track record of managing interactions with external regulatory agencies, such as the CFIA.
