Platform Engineer – Kubernetes, Azure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Norway.

📋 Description

• Execute targeted development and expansion of the data platform in partnership with the team and architectural resources.

• Development must focus on creating modern, user-centric solutions that adhere to organizational guidelines regarding technology and compliance.

• Convert strategic decisions into actionable technological solutions that facilitate the efficient operation and advancement of the data platform.

• Implement the platform architecture to align with business objectives and create a platform that effectively handles large data volumes.

• Diagnose and resolve technical issues associated with the data platform, while supporting DataOps and analytics teams utilizing the platform.

• Offer guidance on platform architecture, ensuring consistency with overarching principles and guidelines, and collaborate with team members and architects on solution design.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 2 years of pertinent experience in platform development.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure cloud technologies, including the construction, delivery, and management of development and runtime environments.

• Strong grasp of Terraform as an Infrastructure as Code (IaC) framework, particularly with Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS).

• Experience with Kubernetes operators, custom controllers (Kubebuilder/controller-runtime), and the design of Custom Resource Definitions (CRDs) for domain-specific abstractions.

• Background in automation and facilitating quick, iterative development for both platform teams and platform users.

• Understanding of GitOps principles and tools for continuous delivery and operational processes.

• Experience with Azure Databricks, including user needs configuration, Databricks Autoloader, Databricks apps, Unity Catalog, and streaming technologies such as EventHub and Kafka.

• Hands-on experience with Python and PySpark for data processing and analytics.

• Capability to work independently and collaboratively, assisting colleagues with technical challenges.

• Experience in providing technical support for internal platform services and a comprehension of the workflows of data engineers and data analysts.
