Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and manage Identity & Access Management services:

• - Authentication processes, session management, and device trust.

• - Authorization and entitlements including roles, permissions, and policies.

• - Implement security measures such as MFA and key management in collaboration with security teams.

• Take ownership of financial operations systems:

• - Orchestration of transfers and payments.

• - Ledger and reconciliation workflows.

• - Establish limits, risk controls, and ensure transactional accuracy.

• Create and sustain blockchain infrastructure:

• - Management of nodes and RPC.

• - Submission, monitoring, and retry logic for transactions.

• - Indexing and streaming on-chain data into internal services and databases.

• Set and maintain standards for reliability and observability:

• - Establish SLOs and error budgets for key services.

• - Develop dashboards, alerts, runbooks, and incident management protocols.

• Drive large-scale, cross-functional technical projects from conception through deployment, working closely with Product, Security, and Ops teams.

• Mentor and support fellow engineers, contributing to engineering standards, design reviews, and documentation efforts.

• Remain updated on industry best practices regarding authentication, key management, and secure infrastructure for cryptocurrency and trading.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5–12+ years of experience in backend, product, or platform engineering, with a background in high-scale, high-availability systems within fintech, crypto, or related fields.

• In-depth knowledge in at least one of the following areas:

• - Identity & access/security engineering

• - Financial systems/ledgering/payments

• - Blockchain infrastructure/on-chain data

• Proven experience in designing and managing distributed systems (datastores, queues, streaming, background workers).

• History of making architectural decisions and successfully implementing and adopting them.

• Strong operational focus, including monitoring, on-call responsibilities, incident response, and conducting postmortems.

• Exceptional collaborative abilities, particularly with Product, Security, and Ops teams.
