Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Contribute to the design, implementation, and ongoing development of the Global AI Platform, ensuring it is scalable, secure, and reliable across various environments.

• Operate and maintain essential platform components, including Azure AI Foundry, Azure API Management (APIM), AI gateways (such as Portkey), and associated Azure services.

• Monitor the health of the platform, troubleshoot incidents, and resolve operational issues to guarantee the continuous availability and performance of AI services.

• Manage and address platform-related requests, including onboarding new use cases, enabling models, configuring integrations, and overseeing access controls.

• Design and implement infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using Terraform for consistent, automated, and repeatable platform deployments.

• Develop and sustain CI/CD pipelines utilizing Azure DevOps to aid in platform configuration, deployment, and lifecycle management.

• Define and institute platform governance, covering model access policies, guardrails, usage controls, and integration standards.

• Enable the secure exposure and consumption of AI services via Azure APIM and AI gateways, ensuring appropriate authentication, authorization, and traffic management.

• Collaborate with solution architects, data scientists, and application teams to onboard and support AI use cases that align with platform standards.

• Identify opportunities to enhance platform capabilities, improve operational efficiency, and evolve the platform in accordance with business requirements and technological progress.

• Maintain platform documentation, architectural artifacts, and operational procedures to foster knowledge sharing and support platform sustainability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Over 5 years of experience in platform engineering, cloud engineering, or infrastructure roles, ideally with exposure to AI/ML platforms.

• Strong practical experience with Microsoft Azure, including Azure AI Foundry, Azure API Management (APIM), Azure DevOps, as well as core Azure networking, identity, and security concepts.

• Demonstrated experience operating cloud platforms in production settings, including incident management and troubleshooting.

• Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and strategies for multi-environment deployment.

• Experience with AI gateways or API gateway technologies (like Portkey or similar) for managing and governing access to AI/LLM.

• A solid understanding of API management, service integration patterns, and the secure exposure of services.

• Familiarity with AI platform concepts, such as model lifecycle, LLM access control, and guardrails.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work in distributed, cloud-based environments.

• Experience working in Agile teams and collaborating with multiple stakeholders.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
