Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Design and spearhead the advancement of the internal developer platform (Internal Developer Platform), ensuring it is scalable, well-governed, and provides an outstanding developer experience.

• Establish and implement robust cloud-native architectures on AWS (EKS, ECS, Lambda), making impactful technical decisions.

• Act as a technical resource for full-stack development of the platform (Node.js, Python, React), ensuring a balance between quality, performance, and maintainability.

• Champion the adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) as a standard across the organization, utilizing Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation.

• Define and refine golden paths, patterns, and frameworks that enhance productivity and minimize complexity for engineering teams.

• Propel automation and self-service infrastructure initiatives at scale.

• Influence and enhance the Developer Experience (DX) throughout the organization.

• Collaborate closely with various teams to promote platform adoption and establish best practices.

• Lead the resolution of complex issues and develop strategies for resilience and observability.

• Mentor engineers and contribute to the technical development of the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in Platform Engineering & Backstage.

• Preferred: Practical experience with Backstage in production settings, including:

- Creation and evolution of developer portals.

- Development of software templates.

- Creation of custom plugins and integrations.

• Capability to define platform adoption and governance strategies.

• Knowledge of AI & Automation is a strong advantage.

• Experience applying AI within engineering platforms, such as:

- Internal copilots and AI-assisted workflows.

- Integration with LLMs (OpenAI, Bedrock, Azure OpenAI).

• Practical understanding of AI platform challenges, including:

- Security, governance, and compliance.

- Prompt management and versioning.

- Abstraction and standardization of AI APIs.

• Experience leading intelligent automation initiatives utilizing AI.

• Additional differentiators include:

- Experience directing platform initiatives in complex environments.

- Background in DevOps, SRE, and/or Platform Engineering at scale.

- Familiarity with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog).

- Proven history of technical influence and architectural decision-making.
