Plan Document Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Analyzes and addresses issues reported by both external and internal users.

• Participates in and/or leads meetings for new group implementations to gather comprehensive benefit information.

• Works in collaboration with the Legal team to resolve compliance-related matters.

• Coordinates the language of Plan Documents with the Benefits team to facilitate system configuration and benefit administration.

• Keeps systems configuration leadership informed about problems and the corrective actions taken.

• Develops and upholds Plan Documents, amendments, Summary Plan Descriptions, and Summaries of Benefits and Coverages; ensuring timely signatures or approvals from the Plan Administrator through direct communication and coordination with regional offices.

• Maintains electronic records of Plan Documents and amendments for internal staff and web-based storage for clients.

• Performs additional duties as assigned.

• Offers support to the Benefits Team and internal staff.

• Utilizes an internet-based Plan Document system to craft the initial Plan Document template, creating and maintaining libraries to customize each document with language specific to plan administration, benefit plan design, and client practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Business, Healthcare Management, or a related field.

• Alternatively, five (5) years of non-clerical experience in an insurance, managed care, or healthcare organization will be considered in lieu of a degree.

• A minimum of three (3) years of experience in writing documentation or instructional materials.

• At least three (3) years of experience in analysis and/or research.

• Comprehensive knowledge of managed care, health insurance, or third-party administrative services.

• Familiarity with products and services related to self-funded clients is preferred.

• Awareness of federal and state laws and regulations affecting self-funded clients is preferred.

• Project Management experience is preferred.
