This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assign codes such as ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and modifiers based on documentation.
• Review and efficiently resolve pre-bill edits.
• Analyze and appropriately address coding denials.
• Achieve or surpass productivity benchmarks.
• Maintain an accuracy rate of 95.5% or higher in monthly internal audits.
• Effectively communicate coding issues to internal team members, clients, or external stakeholders.
• Present information in a one-on-one or small group setting to colleagues.
• Adhere to deadlines and finalize tasks prior to monthly closing dates.
• Identify and apply CCI, LCD, NCD, and other relevant coding rules and client-specific guidelines.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Vocational or technical education beyond high school is required.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of coding experience is necessary.
• CPC, CCS-P, or an equivalent certification in Multi-specialty Evaluation and Management coding.
• Proven understanding of medical terminology, human anatomy, and coding regulations.
• Knowledge of third-party reimbursement regulations and billing practices is essential.
• Ability to review documents for precision and completeness.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem identification and resolution skills.
• Familiarity with CCI, LCD, NCD, and other applicable coding rules and regulations is required.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
• Capability to function as a team member in all tasks.
• Conduct oneself in an ethical, honest, and professional manner.
• Show a continuous willingness to learn and develop professionally.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
