
Physician, Obesity Medicine β Dedicated Collaborator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +1 more state.
β’ Deliver direct patient care within a clinical environment, emphasizing evidence-based obesity treatment and chronic weight management. The physician will work alongside APP colleagues to jointly manage a shared patient panel without having an individual primary patient panel.
β’ Review patient charts and conduct return appointments for APP patients every third visit to maintain quality and continuity of care.
β’ Offer treatment planning and medical management assistance for complex cases or escalated issues.
β’ Prescribe non-controlled obesity medications for patients under both direct supervision and in collaboration with APPs.
β’ Hold weekly 30-minute collaborative meetings and dedicate 30 minutes for asynchronous communication with each assigned APP to discuss cases, tackle clinical challenges, and provide continuous mentorship.
β’ Ensure that clinical documentation, protocols, and treatment pathways are consistently adhered to within the team.
β’ Support the professional development of APPs by encouraging clinical growth, providing feedback, and facilitating continuing education.
β’ Engage in team-based care initiatives and foster a culture of collaboration and high-quality care.
β’ Participate in relevant departmental meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the obesity medicine program.
β’ Possess an MD or DO degree, be board certified, and hold diplomate status with the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM).
β’ Have a minimum of 5 years of experience as an attending physician in your primary specialty.
β’ Hold an active and unrestricted state license in MA or NY.
β’ If lacking a MA or NY State License, you MUST be licensed in one of the following states: ME, NH, CT, NJ, DE, MD, DC, PA AND currently possess a LOQ (Letter of Qualification) with the IMLC (Interstate Medical Licensure Compact).
β’ Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills for effective patient and team interactions.
β’ Demonstrate a strong interest in mentoring, teaching, and collaborating with APPs.
β’ Have proven experience working with APPs, medical residents, or trainees in a clinical academic environment.
β’ Possess outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
β’ Adhere to evidence-based obesity treatments, behavioral interventions, nutrition, and pharmacotherapy.
β’ Be dedicated to providing patient-centered, culturally competent care.
β’ Be comfortable working within a multidisciplinary team that includes dietitians, behavioral health providers, and nursing staff.
β’ Show a commitment to the highest standards of medical care and an evidence-based approach to obesity management.
