PHP/WordPress Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design customized, high-performance WordPress themes, plugins, and solutions tailored for the WPVIP platform.

• Develop clean, modular PHP (8.x) by utilizing OOP and SOLID principles to guarantee maintainability and compliance with VIP standards.

• Foster collaboration with stakeholders through BDD (Behavior-Driven Development) to establish a unified understanding.

• Implement and champion ATDD (Acceptance Test-Driven Development) and TDD (Test-Driven Development) methodologies to ensure a clear and executable understanding of the intended behavior guiding development.

• Manage and enhance Continuous Delivery pipelines using VIP-CLI and GitHub Actions, making certain that every commit is 'deploy-ready' through automated linting, unit testing, and integration tests.

• Serve as a servant leader by eliminating technical obstacles and promoting pair programming to disseminate testing best practices within the team.

• Actively identify technical debt and platform risks, taking the lead in refactoring code to improve testability and performance.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of professional experience in PHP, with extensive knowledge of the WordPress VIP ecosystem.

• Demonstrated experience with testing frameworks (e.g., PHPUnit, Playwright, Behat, or Cypress) and a strong commitment to TDD/BDD methodologies.

• In-depth understanding of contemporary Continuous Delivery practices and deployment constraints specific to WPVIP.

• Proficient in React (Gutenberg), ES6+, and REST/GraphQL API integration.

• Significant experience with tools such as PHPCS, New Relic, Query Monitor, WPScan, and K6/WebPageTest.

• Familiarity with BDD, ATDD, TDD, and CI/CD practices.

• Knowledge of WPVIP architecture and high-scale PHP development.
